Sardar 2: Yuvan Shankar Raja onboard Karthi’s spy thriller

We had already reported that the sequel for the Tamil film Sardar is in the making, with actor Karthi once again headlining the film. On Saturday, the makers announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja is onboard the project as composer, on the occasion of his birthday.

Sardar 2 is the upcoming sequel of the 2022 spy thriller film Sardar featuring Karthi in the lead role. The first part featured the actor in dual roles. Written and directed by PS Mithran, the filmmaker will be once again resuming his directorial duties for the second part.

The makers have been announcing the cast and crew names of the film one by one. In the latest, Yuvan Shankar Raja has been announced as the composer of Sardar 2, for the occasion of his birthday on Saturday. It is to be noted that Yuvan Shankar Raja has replaced GV Prakash Kumar who scored for the first part. George C Williams ISC is the cinematographer and Vijay Velukutty will serve as the editor for the sequel.

So far, the cast confirmed for Sardar 2 includes Karthi, SJ Suryah, Malavika Mohanan and Rajisha Vijayan. The shooting for Sardar 2 has already begun. The makers have not yet revealed the plot of the sequel.

Sardar is available on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. The film revolves around a disgraced spy who makes a comeback to prevent a suspicious water company from being launched. In the first part, Karthi played dual roles, as a cop and his father who was a spy and now in exile. Laila, Raashii Khanna, Chunkey Pandey and others were also part of the cast. It is not known if these actors will make a comeback for the sequel.

Sardar 2 is produced by Prince Pictures production banner. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
