Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actor Rajesh Kumar recalls getting rejected after two rounds of Shark Tank India; says 'I thought I might get...'

Actor Rajesh Kumar is best known for his stint in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai as Rosesh. The actor featured in a couple of television shows and films before he decided to quit acting altogether. Rajesh took up farming as a profession. Years after he quit acting, the actor applied for Shark Tank India, a show where small business owners get funds for their start-ups. Unfortunately, Rajesh failed to make it to the show despite clearing two rounds of it.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajesh Kumar opened up about applying for Shark Tank India to fund his start-up. The actor recalled, "I had applied for Shark Tank India. I had cleared two out of three rounds. You also had to submit your videos, so I thought, I might get a favour because I am a known face. That here is an actor, who is a social entrepreneur talking about agriculture." Rajesh added that his presentation was in Kolkata and it wrapped within a day.

He further recalled that he got a call for Nawazuddin Siddiqui's film Haddi as the makers wanted to meet him. Kumar's confidence was shaken during that phase. However, he met the film's director and much to his surprise, the actor was offered a role in the ZEE5 film without an audition.

"I was like, but what about my audition? He said we just want you on board. The director just had one request, if I could shave my head? I said I can, if you pay me one lakh extra, and he did," he revealed.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajesh Kumar had two releases this year. He was seen in Rautu Ka Raaz with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie premiered on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. And now, the actor is seen in Binny and Family, a film that marked the debut of Anjini Dhawan. She is the niece of Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan. Helmed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, Binny And Family had a a theatrical release on September 27, 2024.
