The trailer of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello’s second and final instalment hints at dark times ahead for Manu

Manu (Rakshit Shetty) is a free man after serving a 10-year sentence in a hit-and-run case that resulted in a death, which he offered to take the blame for and keep his employer’s son out of trouble. If things had gone as per plan, Manu should have got a handsome payout and his boss would have ‘taken care’ of the case and gotten the former out in only a few months. To Manu’s bad luck, though, within days of taking the blame and landing in jail as an undertrial, his ‘benefactor’ succumbs to a heart attack and the rest of his family thinks it best to not live up to his unfulfilled promise and let Manu rot in prison. That, though, was not his biggest loss. His decision to try and make a quick buck had a devastating impact on the love of his life, Priya (Rukmini Vasanth).
This is pretty much where director Hemanth M Rao left audiences at the end of Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, which came out in theatres on September 1 and was on Amazon Prime Video by the end of the month. The question on everyone’s mind, obviously, is what will become of Manu and Priya? Did she really give in to pressure from her mother and get married to someone else, or is she still holding out hope and making plans about how she will welcome Manu when he leaves prison? Is it payback time for Manu as he destroys those who ruined his happiness? These are some of the questions that audiences are looking for answers to in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B on November 17. But has Hemanth provided some clues in the trailer that dropped moments ago? Will Manu meet his dreams or despair?

By the looks of it, it’s the latter. If Manu wants a fresh start, he has to leave all the old stuff behind, including Priya. But can he really do that, even though she tells him they shouldn’t meet again? How far will Manu go to extract payback from those who destroyed his happily-ever-after with Priya? If the trailer is anything to go by, Manu does go to extremes, which explains the red tone of Side B. In fact, the path he takes is not even easy on his new ‘friend’, Surabhi (Chaithra J Achar).
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B also stars Chaithra J Achar, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Achyuth Kumar, among others. The film, unlike Side A, will have a simultaneous release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam on November 17. Side B has had a delayed outing. It was initially meant to be a Dasara release, 7 weeks after Side A, but owing to paucity of theatres it was first pushed ahead by a week and subsequently to a post-Deepavali date.
