Rakshit Shetty let go of a festival release for his Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, after first announcing its theatrical outing seven weeks after Side A. His film was to join Shivarajkumar’s Ghost as the Dasara presentations, but with many other big-ticket movies also lined up for a share of the box office, he decided to pull his film out, and subsequently waited for a clear window to bring it to theatres, not only in Kannada, but Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam as well. Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B is releasing on November 17, after Deepavali, which Rakshit says is a good time, because unlike other festivals where people head out to watch a movie as part of the celebrations, for Deepavali, they stay home.

KVN Productions will handle the distribution this time as well and according to the banner’s business head Suprith, the film will release in around 270 screens, which is more or less the same count that Side A got. Also, as was the case with Side A, Side B will also open with paid premieres the previous evening. Advance bookings will likely begin only early next week, what with Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 releasing on November 12, Sunday. With People Media Factory and Prithviraj Films handling the Telugu and Malayalam version releases, premieres there have been left to their discretion, said Rakshit at a recent press conference.

At the time, Rakshit had also explained that the reason he’s not bringing the Hindi version to theatres is that it is a vast market, which would require massive promotional budgets. Having weighed the return-on-investment, Rakshit is not releasing the Hindi version now, but should a demand arise, it will be done, as the film has been dubbed in all five languages.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B is the culmination of the love story between Rakshit’s Manu and Rukmini Vasanth’s Priya. The film also stars Chaithra J Achar, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Yamuna Srinidhi, Achuth Kumar, Ramesh Indira and Pavithra Lokesh, among others.
