Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A released in theatres on September 1. The Hemanth M Rao directorial, which has Rakshit Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead, had a good start at the box office and been receiving a lot of love and praise from most quarters. Throughout the promotions of the film, Hemanth and Rakshit had been clear that Sapta Sagaradaache Ello is an intense love story and when the film came out, its slow pace did not appeal to some audiences, but what everyone’s been unanimous about is the incredible chemistry that the lead pair share, with Rukmini now the most wanted actress in Kannada. The film’s music by Charan Raj and visuals by Advaitha Gurumurthy have been widely lauded.
Rakshit, who has also produced the film, had said that unlike 777 Charlie, where he knew that the subject would appeal to pet lovers across the nation, with Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, he needed for word-of-mouth publicity to spread about its content. The film had limited releases in other parts of the country in its original Kannada version, with Rakshit promising dubbed versions depending on the demand.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, we hear, is now set to release in a Telugu version, which comes shortly after Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddadre got an outing in the neighbouring states. Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare was presented by Rakshit in Karnataka. Side B, meanwhile, is set to be in theatres for Dasara, a window in which it has tight competition at the box office, not only from Kannada, but other languages as well.
Rakshit, we hear, has also managed to sell the digital rights of the film to Amazon Prime Video, but it is not clear if he will allow Side B to begin streaming right before Side B comes to theatres on October 20, or if he will hold until both are out and only then release it on OTT. Also starring Avinash, Yamuna Srinidhi, Pavitra Lokesh, Achyuth Kumar, Ramesh Indira, Gopalkrishna Deshpande and Sharath Lohithashwa, among many others, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A is currently in theatres.
