The shocking demise of Dangal-fame Suhani Bhatnagar, at the young age of 19, seems unreal to many of her co-stars. The actress, who rose to fame after portraying the younger Babita Phogat in Aamir Khan’s 2016 sports drama Dangal, passed away on Saturday. The news of her demise was shared by her father, who stated that Suhani suffered from dermatomyositis, a rare immune disease.
After Aamir Khan productions and Zaira Wasim condoled the death of the young star, B-town actress Sanya Malhotra also expressed her condolences to the family with a special social media post.
Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra is mourning the loss of her Dangal castmate, Suhani Bhatnagar. The child actor, Suhani, rose to instant fame with her acting stint in Aamir Khan’s 2016 blockbuster, Dangal. The sports biopic also featured Sanya Malhotra as the older Babita Phogat. On Sunday, the Kathal actress expressed her grief on Instagram.

While expressing disbelief over the shocking news, Sanya Malhotra extended her condolences to the entire family. The actress also called Suhani Bhatnagar special and talented. Taking to her Instagram story, the Jawan actress wrote, "I can’t believe it’s real. There was no one quite like our Suhani. She was so special, so talented, and way too young to have left us so soon. Rest in peace Chotu. My deepest condolences to Pooja, Puneet, and the entire family."
The entire Dangal crew also shared their condolences and prayers for the Bhatnagar family. Yesterday, an official statement from Aamir Khan’s productions reminisced about Suhani’s special contribution to Dangal and said that the film wouldn’t have been complete without her as the team remembered "the star in their hearts."
Zaira Wasim, who played Suhani’s on-screen sister Geeta Phogat, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express shock over the news. "I am shocked beyond words by the news of Suhani Bhatnagar's passing. My heart goes out to her family during this incredibly difficult time," she wrote on X.
According to Suhani’s family, she was suffering from a rare inflammatory condition called dermatomyositis and had been battling the disease for quite some time.
