Malayalam actor Kailas Nath, who was popular for his stints in TV serials and movies such as Santhwanam and Yugapurushan, had passed away due to non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 65.
The news of the actor’s demise was shared by actress Seema G Nair on his social media page. Kailas was reportedly undergoing treatment for the disease for the past few years. The actor, who had starred in films such as Sangamam and Sara Varsham, became a household name for the Malayali TV audience through his role as Pillai in the Chippy Renjith-starrer Santhwanam.
Two years ago, the actor had suffered a minor heart attack on the sets of Santhwanam. The medical condition also led to diagnosis of the advanced stage of liver cirrhosis. Several actors including Sajan Surya and Gopika Anil had taken to their social media pages back then to request fans for financial support after the veteran actor was advised to undergo liver transplant.
