Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is a blockbuster hit at the box office, grossing over Rs 300 crore and bringing massive profits to its makers. The film has completed 24 days since its release, and for the first time, it has recorded earnings below Rs 1 crore worldwide.
Sankranthiki Vasthunnam OTT release delayed
Until now, there had not been a single day when the film made less than Rs 2 crore, but on the 24th day, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam collected Rs 0.75 crore. With this, the film's total net collection stands at Rs 179 crore.
The makers have earned four times their investment, thanks to the film, which was directed by Anil Ravipudi. Venkatesh has now become the only senior hero to achieve a Rs 300 crore film in his career, setting an all-time record.
On the other hand, we at OTTplay have already revealed that Zee5 has acquired the digital rights for a whopping Rs 30 crore and initially planned to release the film in the second week of February. However, we also reported that the OTT release would be delayed as producer Dil Raju is in talks with Zee5 to postpone the digital release, given that Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is still performing well in theaters. The negotiations are ongoing, and we have now learned that the film will not be available on OTT until March 2025. It looks like the makers will officially announce this in the coming days.

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam was released alongside Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj, yet it surprised everyone with its impressive box office collections and strong word of mouth. The songs became a sensation, and the chemistry between Venkatesh and the two heroines, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh, was widely appreciated. The comedy in the film has won over audiences, contributing to its success as one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema.
