In the last few weeks, during the promotional stint of KGF: Chapter 2, in which Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt plays chief antagonist Adheera, the question on everyone’s mind was how he managed during the shoot, considering that he got his cancer diagnosis during the making of the film and was undergoing intensive treatment thereafter. The shooting conditions on the set of KGF, amid the dust and grime of the location, were not the most conducive for someone in aggressive cancer treatment, but team KGF: Chapter 2 has been all praise for the actor, who never once let them accord him any special treatment, or change things around to make shooting easier for him.
As the film hit theatres today, Dutt’s wife, Maanayata, who stood by him like a rock during this difficult phase in his life, shared a special message about her thoughts on KGF: Chapter 2, declaring that “Sanju is back with a bang”.
“The film has been a special journey for us in more ways than one. All those who have often labelled him as irresponsible, non-committed and a bad boy must watch this film to see his determination, dedication and commitment. Sanju shot this film during the most vulnerable phase of his life... our lives. He shot uncomplainingly, all those strenuous scenes with the same passion as ever. For me he is the HERO of the film. Cool, powerful, spirited and a fighter to the very end! KGF2 belongs to Adheera! Having said that, Sanju is back with a bang, and he couldn’t have said it better himself - aa raha hoon main” said Maanayata.
KGF: Chapter 2, which opened in a massive 10,000+ screens across the globe in Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, is expected to be among the top grossers of the year, giving records set by Baahubali 2 and RRR stiff competition.
