There seems to be a spark of hope for fans aching to see Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan come together again for a project. The filmmaker recently revealed that he has not written off the possibility for a future project with the actor.
Bhansali and Khan were working on a project titled Inshallah, which has reportedly been shelved due to creative differences between the two. Alia Bhatt was also involved in the film.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker opened up about collaborating with Khan again in the future. Calling Khan a ‘very dear friend’, Bhansali said that although, he tried his best to make things work out, Inshallah just didn’t happen.
He said despite that project not working out, the two are still on good terms and it isn’t that they do not like each other. The filmmaker talked about how he has nothing but respect for the actor, having collaborated with him on films such as Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Saawariya (2007) and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999).
Bhansali also said that Khan plays an important role in his life and he would be open to the idea of a future project together. “The ball is in his court for him to decide if he wants to work with me," said the filmmaker.
Meanwhile, Bhansali’s latest project, Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Bhatt, was released last month. Khan, on the other hand, is keeping busy working on Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, Tiger 3 as well as a sequel to 2015’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
