Sanjay Dutt had come on board for director Ahmed Khan's comic caper Welcome to the Jungle. The Bollywood actor was to share screen space with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty and others in the film. However, the latest development on Welcome 3 is that Sanjay has reportedly opted out of the comic caper. According to Bollywood Hungama, Dutt cited date issues for his exit from Welcome to the Jungle.
The media report suggests Sanjay Dutt conveyed all the issues to his friend Akshay Kumar, who is an integral part of Welcome to the Jungle. "Sanjay Dutt felt that the Welcome To The Jungle shoot was happening in an unplanned way, with too many changes in the script, disturbing his diary of the shoot, and hence has parted ways," a source told the entertainment portal.
For the uninitiated, Sanjay had reportedly shot some funny portions of Welcome to the Jungle in the first schedule of the Ahmed Khan directorial. Considering the same, the makers are ready to use the same in the film and credit Dutt for a guest appearance.
A source further told the portal that the makers have come up with an interesting idea to integrate into the screenplay that Sanjay goes missing after a few scenes in Welcome to the Jungle.
Meanwhile, Welcome to the Jungle boasts an ensemble star cast. Helmed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadidawala, the film stars Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Mukesh Tiwari, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Johnny Lever, and among many others.
Welcome to the Jungle is scheduled for a theatrical release in December this year. Are you looking forward to the release of the film on the big screen? Tweet @ottplayapp on X and share your thoughts. In the meantime, stay tuned to this space for more updates from the world of streaming and films.
