Sanam Teri Kasam has rediscovered its footing, garnering critical acclaim and strong box office returns nine years after its first release. After a disastrous 2016 debut, the film is finally getting the attention it deserves after a re-release. Now, John Abraham praised Harshvardhan Rane for finally receiving his due and celebrated the film's success on social media.
Sharing the poster for the film, John commented, "Finally... @harshvardhanrane, you have got your due!" in an emotional post. In response, Harshvardhan said that he is grateful. Abraham, the OG, taught him the value of perseverance, working hard, and maintaining high standards.
Take a look below:
Many viewers have praised Harshvardhan's performance in the film, demonstrating the clear impact of the message. The re-release has served two purposes: it has brought the film back into the spotlight and highlighted its timeless plot and performances.
It was intended to be Harshvardhan's Bollywood debut, but it wasn't Sanam Teri Kasam—it was another film produced under Abraham's banner. Sapna Pabbi was going to star opposite the actor in the film Satra Ko Shaadi Hai, which was supposed to be co-produced by Abraham and UTV-Disney. Disney did not issue any official comments or updates regarding the film's stalled status, despite speculations that it was ending Bollywood production.
Featuring Harshvardhan and Mawra Hocane, Sanam Teri Kasam was directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. In this film, an edgy young man and an introverted girl have an unexpected romance. The movie bombed at the box office upon its first release, despite its profound themes and heartfelt score. Audiences have responded well to its re-release, though.
However, it should be noted that Harshvardhan, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, spoke regarding the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam the day before it hit theatres.
"Release the film" was the message he received from numerous girls, as they simply wanted to weep. The message blew Harshvardhan's mind. Being touched is all they really desire; he learnt from this. Give them a good cry or a good laugh—they wish they could, but alas, it is not possible. Making people laugh or cry is also challenging. If they succeed, there will be no others like them.
Sanam Teri Kasam can also be watched on both JioCinema (OTTplay Premium) and ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium).
