The title of Citadel's Indian spinoff has officially been revealed as Citadel Honey Bunny. It stars actors Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles. The thriller drama series is produced and directed by Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), in which Samantha plays Honey, while Varun plays Bunny. Speaking about her role, Samantha confessed that she never imagined herself doing action.

Samantha added that till the very last moment, she thought that she could not play the kind of character that she was offered to in Citadel Hunny Bunny. The actress added that she is extremely grateful to Raj & DK for coming to her rescue and that she is proud of the way the series looks and is shot.
A few months ago, Samantha shed some light on the making of the series, building up fans' anticipation for it. Sharing a collection of pictures with the cast and crew of Citadel Hony Bunny, Samantha posted on social media, “Finally, we got to watch something…And we are like (star-eyed emojis).”
When a fan asked Samantha on Instagram if Citadel Honey Bunny is a remake of the original Citadel series, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the actress replied, “It is not a REMAKE!!”
It is interesting to note that Varun made a cameo appearance in the fifth episode of Citadel as Rahi Gambhir, hinting that an Indian spinoff of Citadel is likely. And fans were thrilled to learn when this became a reality.

The star-studded cast of Citadel Honey Bunny
Apart from Samantha and Varun, Citadel Honey Bunny also has an ensemble cast that includes Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar and Kashvi Majmundar.
The series is produced by Raj & DK’s D2R Films, Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo brothers’ AGBO. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot and Scott Nemes from AGBO, alongside David Weil.
