She made her first appearance for a promotional event of Kushi in Hyderabad on Tuesday

Samantha, who last starred in the epic drama Shaakuntalam, will next share screen space with her Mahanati co-star Vijay Deverakonda for the relationship drama Kushi. The film, written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, releases in theatres on September 1. A musical night, where singers performed the songs from Kushi, was held in Hyderabad yesterday.
At the event, Samantha said, “How’s the Kushi tonight? I fell in love with the album when I heard it on sets. It’s great to see audiences loving as it much as our team. Thank you for making tonight so much special. I want to go ahead of time and watch Kushi with you all on September 1. We always want to make a film that’ll earn your love, I hope and pray you do.”
She conveyed her gratitude to producers - Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar - for the patience they showed in her last year and understanding her concerns. More than my favourite producers, you’ll be my favourite human beings, she said. Samantha admitted it was a very hard time for Shiva Nirvana, Vijay but said they sure know how to make a blockbuster.
Hesham Abdul Wahab (composer) will know what it means to be loved by Telugu people, she shared, thanking him for an amazing night and album. She praised cinematographer Murali, the crew who gave her confidence besides appreciating senior artistes who were integral to the film - Lakshmi, Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar, Saranya, Rohini, Rahul Ramakrishna and Vennela Kishore.
The actress stated she was working hard for her fans, promised to come back soon healthier and deliver a blockbuster. She assured Kushi is a good film and that it won’t disappoint crowds. She’ll also be seen in the Indian version of Citadel alongside Varun Dhawan, a show directed by The Family Man makers Raj and DK.
