Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu pleasantly surprised her fans by sharing a photo where she poses alongside Malayalam superstar Mammootty. The caption on her Instagram story reads, "Most favorite, Mammootty."
The picture has sparked rumours about a potential collaboration between the two. However, an official confirmation is expected soon.
It's noteworthy that Samantha is a self-confessed fan of Mammootty. Last year, she gave a high praise for Mammootty's critical darling Kaathal The Core. She called it "the movie of the year" and said, "Do yourself a favour and watch this beautiful yey powerful gem of a film. #Kaathalthecore @mammootty Sir you are my hero. I will not be able to get over this performance for a long long time. @jyotika Love youu @jeobabymusic Legendary.”

Mammootty has been redefining his stardom in the Malayalam film industry by lending his star power to mainstream stories, which were traditionally considered off-beat. Yet, his gamble on unconventional films is paying off rich dividends at the box office. For instance, his recent movie Bramayugam is a minimalistic drama set against the backdrop of feudal Kerala and has been shot entirely in black-and-white frames. Yet the movie managed to strike a chord with the audiences worldwide and in less than two weeks, the film managed to earn more than Rs 50 crore from its worldwide ticket sales.
