Yashoda, the thriller starring Samantha, is barely few hours away from making it to theatres across the globe. Directed by Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan, the film is bankrolled by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under Sridevi Movies and will release across five languages tomorrow - Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. While Samantha has distanced herself from the film's promotions owing to her health concerns, she shared a special message for the team earlier today.
"Extremely nervous and especially excited! One day to go. Mee andhariki Yashoda nachchalani gattiga korukuntunna. Good vibes to my directors, producer, cast and entire crew as they wait like me for your verdict tomorrow. All fingers and toes crossed. 馃檹馃徑馃檹馃徑馃檹馃徑馃檹馃徑," she wrote and shared an image that showcases her anxiety ahead of the film's release. Samantha is cast as a surrogate mother in the thriller where she takes on a medical scam and corrupt politicians braving all odds.
Samantha said yes to the film within the first narration itself and added she had goosebumps while listening to the story. "I couldn't believe that such a thing was happening around us and we didn't know about it. This is a thriller where the narrative is one-step ahead of the viewers with the guessing game and keeps you glued to the screens. I never knew I would enjoy doing action scenes so much. Between a dance and a fight, I would always pick the latter any given day," she added in a chat with Suma.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Sri Divya Sripada, Kalpika Ganesh, Madhurima, Rao Ramesh and Murali Sharma too play important roles in the film. With music by Mani Sharma, the film has cinematography by M Sukumar and is edited by Marthand K Venkatesh. Ashok is the production designer and Hemambar Jasti is the creative director. Pulagam Chinnarayana and Challa Bhagyalakshmi have penned the dialogues for the Telugu version.
