The year 2023 is a special one for Vicky Kaushal and his fans. This year he worked on 4 theatricals, two of which have received high critical acclaim, namely Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, and The Great Indian Family. The other two in the lineup are Sam Bahadur and Dunki. While he eagerly waits for his upcoming movies, Vicky Kaushal has heaped praise on filmmaker Meghna Gulzar. Here’s why.

Megha Gulzar recalls shooting her most iconic scene from Sam Bahadur

In a video message dropped by actor Vicky Kaushal today, Meghna Gulzar – the director of Sam Bahadur, talked about her most iconic scene from the film. She said, “The very iconic photo of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw was of him standing amidst tall grass and talking to a Gorkha jawan. That image had been the wallpaper of my laptop for over 4-5 years. That photo we chose was because we wanted to recreate that image on our second last day of shoot in Barnala (a city in Punjab).”

“It was very overwhelming to see something like that... we found the location, we found the grass but we thought ki actually ho payega ki nahi... and then to actually see the shot in front of the screen was very emotional for me,” she said.

Reacting to this video message, Vicky Kaushal got emotional and said, “It was an honour to recreate Sam Manekshaw’s iconic moment with his Gorkha jawans. The shot, this scene, has been an emotional and unforgettable one for all of us!”

Lakhs of social media users have liked Vicky Kaushal’s Instagram message in support of the Sam Bahadur team.
