Over the course of an amazing 11-year career, Vicky Kaushal delivered impeccable performances with critically acclaimed films like Masaan, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and Sardar Udham. The actor has carved out a name for himself in the film industry. Now, the URI: The Surgical Strike actor, who is promoting his upcoming film, Sam Bahadur recently expressed his fondness for playing Indian Army characters in an interview.

Vicky Kaushal discussed his inclination towards pursuing parts in the Indian army and what particularly interests him about these roles in an interview with Pinkvilla. The actor stated, "I think the one thing I really enjoy when I get to wear the Indian Army uniform for my characters is that I get to interact with the Indian Army a lot".

The Sardar Udham actor continued explaining that although soldiers appear serious, they are actually very wacky and lighthearted. He revealed that, prior to the filming of Sam Bahadur, he spent three days living with the Maratha Regiment close to Pune and had an amazing time. They used to joke around, party, exchange fascinating stories, and have a good time. They would hang out till three in the morning, get up at five, go for a three-kilometer run, and then play basketball. Vicky said that being treated like one of their own instead of an outsider was the nicest thing about the visit.

"I am like a kid in the candy store when I am around the army as I get to listen to such fascinating stories, such heroic stories from them," Vicky said with enthusiasm. He underlined the untapped storytelling potential in the context of the army and stressed how the families of these real-life heroes should also be recognized.
