That Salman Khan is the talk of the town is no understatement. The actor has been making headlines for quite some time now, all thanks to his latest movie, Sikandar. The film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead and is written and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, was one of the most highly anticipated releases, as it was set to hit the big screens on Eid 2025. Fans were beyond excited, and there was no way they were going to miss the chance to witness their favorite superstar on the big screen.
Now, it turns out Salman Khan has made Eid extra special for one particular fan in Dubai, who took to Instagram to share pictures with the superstar after he graciously called her over for a selfie.
For those unaware, Naomi D’souza, a devoted fan, recently posted on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt moment where she met Salman Khan. The photo itself is precious, but what makes it even more special is the backstory.
Reportedly, Salman Khan was stuck in traffic on Al Gharbi Street, and Naomi, who was trying to capture a picture of him from a distance, was visibly excited. When Salman noticed her, he smiled and invited her over to take a selfie with him. He even rolled down his car window to accommodate the moment.
Naomi wrote, “IN THE CHAOS OF LIFE! @beingsalmankhan just called us in the middle of the road so we could get a picture of him—with all credits to Papa Joe.” Her post has since gone viral on social media, garnering 59K likes and countless comments. Check it out below!
The last time Salman Khan met his fans on Eid was with Tiger 3, which was also released on a Sunday. The film, part of Yash Raj Films’ celebrated Spy Universe, was among the most successful movies of the year. Now, with Sikandar in theatres, inevitable comparisons are being drawn to November 12, 2023, when Tiger 3 hit the big screen. According to Sacnilk, Sikandar has earned approximately ₹26 crore on its opening day, significantly falling short of expectations.
What’s even more concerning is that pre-release predictions suggested that Sikandar might replicate the business of Tiger 3. However, the film has not even managed to match Tiger 3’s opening day collection, let alone surpass it. The Katrina Kaif-starrer earned ₹53 crore on its first day, meaning Sikandar is trailing by nearly 50%.
Sikandar stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, alongside Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kajal Aggarwal, Anjani Dhawan, and an ensemble cast. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film was scheduled for release on March 30, 2025. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates from the world of streaming and films.
