To say that Pathaan was one of the most anticipated films of the year would be an understatement. Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen in a leading role, after almost four years, turned out to live up to its incredible hype indeed, and fans flocked to theatres to catch their beloved SRK on screen. The makers had quite a fun treat in store for fans, as the film also marked SRK and Salman Khan’s onscreen reunion as well after quite some time. Recently, the duo opened up about sharing the screen in Pathaan.

In a statement, Salman spoke of how it always needed a ‘special’ film for them to come together, and he was glad that Pathaan was that film, which turned out to be a blockbuster. He said that he was absolutely ‘floored’, when producer Aditya Chopra explained his vision and narrated the sequence they were to share screen space in. “I’m aware that audiences love to see us together on screen and I’m happy that they have given us so much love in Pathaan”, he said.

Salman went on to say that Aditya intended to give the fans what they wanted in that scene, and the makers were able to really capture the actors’ personalities during the sequence. The actor believed that that was one of the major reasons that fans enjoyed seeing them on screen so much.

He also praised director Siddharth Anand for the execution of the scene and congratulated the team for Pathaan’s huge success. Salman also remarked that it was a huge win for Hindi cinema that the film was able to bring so many people back to theatres yet again.

Pathaan, which also stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, was released in theatres on January 25. The film is an instalment in the YRF Spy Universe.
