Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar penned 24 films, with an impressive 22 achieving blockbuster status. The doc-series Angry Young Men: The Salim-Javed Story explores the legendary partnership of the writer duo. Directed by Namrata Rao, the doc-series is a collaboration between Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar. From Sholay to Mr India, the veteran screenwriters penned a series of popular dialogues that are still evergreen.

Salim-Javed dialogues 

1. "Yeh haath humko de de thakur" (Sholay)

[Give me your hand, Lord] This famous dialogue was by Gabbar played by Amjad Khan. 

2. "Main aaj bhi phenke hue paise nahi uthata" or "Mere paas maa hai" (Deewar)

[I don't collect thrown away money] [I have my mother] These dialogues were by Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. 

3. "Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai" (Don) 

[It's not only hard to catch Don but also impossible] This fan-favorite dialogue was by Amitabh Bachchan. 

4. "Mogambo khush hua" (Mr. India) 

[Mogambo is satisfied] This was by Amrish Puri who played the role of Mogambo. 

5. "Jab tak baithne ko na kaha jaaye sharafat se khade raho. Yeh police station hai, tumhare baap ka ghar nahi" (Zanjeer) 

[Stand straight until you are told to sit. This is a police station, not your father's house] This dialogue was by Big B who played the role of Inspector Vijay Khanna. 

6. "Mere zakhm jaldi nhin bharte" (Trishul) 

[My wounds don't heal fast] This popular dialogue by Amitabh Bachchan never goes old. 

7. "Paap karne waalon par patthar uthane ka adhikaar sirf usse hai jisne paap na kiya ho" (Kaala Patthar)

[Only those people have the right to throw stones on the people who have committed sins ... who have not committed sins themselves] Big B said this and he played the role of Vijay Pal Singh. 

8. "Dum par kabhi zor se jhatka diya hota toh dum toh kya kuttiya bhi seedhi ho jaati hai" (Seeta Aur Geeta)

[Had you ever pressed firmly on the tail ... then forget the tail, even the dog would have become straight] This iconic dialogue was by Hema Malini who had a dual role in the film. 

9. "Ek aurat ki zindagi mein motor, banglay, dhan, daulat, in sab cheezon ki koi keemat nahi ... usse sirf ek acha pati chahiye joh usse pyar kare ... aur jiske kadamon mein woh apni duniya rakh de" (Haathi Mere Saathi)

[Car, bungalows, money, wealth have no value in a woman's life ... she only needs a good husband who loves her ... and under whose feet she can keep her world] It was said by Tanuja. 

10. "Mujhe aaj tak kisi ka khoon karne ki zaroorat hi nahin padi" (Majboor)

[To date I haven't had the need to kill anyone] This famous dialogue was by Pran who played the role of Michael D'Souza.
