Salaar to be a franchise? Yes, say fans after film’s official social media handle – SalaarTheSaga

The much-anticipated Prabhas-starrer, Salaar got a verified social media handle today, called, @SalaarTheSaga. The reveal has excited fans, who have now begun speculating that the handle is testimony to the fact that Hombale Films and director Prashant Neel will make a franchise out of the Prabhas project as well. ‘Saga’, feel fans, would not be added if it is going to be only one film. While some felt it was indication that Salaar would be a two-part project, others were hopeful of more, as is now the case with KGF, which was also meant to be only one film, but is gearing up for the third part as well.

Fans, who are now eagerly awaiting updates on this official handle for the film also pointed out that the production house did not show the same amount of interest with the social media handles of KGF, whereas Salaar got an announcement for the same.

Salaar – the tale of the most violent man - is the first direct Telugu production for Hombale Films, although it will eventually be released as a pan-India project. The film, directed by KGF maker Prashant Neel, is currently under production in Hyderabad. The team has revealed that about 30-35% has been shot, and that they will resume shooting shortly, with an aim to finish the film by the end of the year. Salaar has been announced as a 2023 release for the production house. Initially, after the film was announced and Prabhas’ first-look was revealed, it was rumoured that Salaar is the Telugu remake of Prashant’s debut directorial Ugramm, which had Sriimurali in the lead. The makers have, however, denied this.

Salaar, which has KGF cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and music man Ravi Basrur on board, also stars Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Eashwari Rao and Jagapati Babu, among others, on the cast.
