Veteran actor Tinnu Anand’s first rendition of the line in the Salaar teaser was a lot more polished than the version that is out now

The much-hyped Salaar teaser was talked about for multiple reasons when it dropped way back on June 6 at 5.12 am. While the lack of even one proper shot of lead actor Prabhas was the most widely discussed aspect, the teaser’s ‘star’ veteran actor Tinnu Anand and the line that he says to describe Prabhas’ character, “Simple English… No Confusion… Lion, cheetah, tiger, elephant…very dangerous, but… not in Jurassic Park… because in that park, there is a”, which then trails off to the roar of a dinosaur and back shots of Prabhas wielding an axe, had audiences divided. While some loved that the line established just how dangerous Prabhas’ character is, others thought that it was way too silly a usage.
For Tinnu Anand, though, saying that line meant that he had to drop his usual polished style of speaking English with an Anglicized accent in favour of a more ‘local flavour’. Speaking about working on the film on a recent radion show, Tinnu said that when he first said the line, director Prashant Neel stopped him right away and very politely asked him to leave his ‘Oxford English’ at home. The filmmaker then proceeded to explain that the character had to sound and behave like a south Indian speaking English.
The latest production from the house of Hombale Films, the makers of KGF, the first instalment of Salaar was meant to be in theatres in a fortnight on September 28, but only yesterday the banner confirmed the rumour that has been doing the rounds for a while that the release was being postponed indefinitely. Apologizing to fans who have been waiting eagerly for the film, they reaffirmed their commitment to bringing a good quality movie to them but did not offer any insight as to when Salaar Ceasefire could be expected in theatres. The film was reportedly postponed owing to delays in post-production.
