Amidst humungous expectations, the promotions of Salaar kickstarted today with the launch of its teaser at 5.12 am. Prabhas plays the lead role in the film that marks the arrival of director Prashanth Neel into Telugu cinema. Shruti Haasan is cast as the female lead in the action entertainer which is set to arrive in theatres across five languages this September 28.
Prabhas fans naturally expressed their love for the teaser that showcases the star in an out and out action avatar after ages. Viewers were surprised how the filmmaker used only glimpses of the star’s persona and physique, blending it well with the raw music score and impactful cinematography. The fans predict nothing short of box office tsunami across the globe in a couple of months.
However, a handful of fans were tad disappointed that there was not enough of Prabhas in the teaser and felt it was more of a ‘first glimpse’. Naturally, netizens drew comparisons between Yash and Prabhas, the promotional content of KGF 2 and Salaar. A few non-Telugu viewers also opined that it would be tough for Prashanth Neel to better himself after KGF.
The teaser sparked a meme fest among Twitter users with several posts praising and criticising the makers of Salaar. One thing’s clear - it’s not easy to please viewers especially after delivering two box office monsters like KGF 1 and 2. Yet, for Prabhas fans who were disappointed with Radhe Shyam and Adipurush, one could sense some relief to see the vintage avatar of the star.
Prithviraj Sukumaran, Easwari Rao, Garuda Ram, Sriya Reddy essay other key roles in the Hombale Films production. Ravi Basrur scores the music for the film that’ll have multiple instalments. The first part of Salaar is titled Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire. The production house recently released the Malayalam film Dhoomam, directed by Pawan Kumar.
