An hour ago, Hombale Films, the production house backing Prabhas’ next, Salaar, announced that the much-awaited teaser of the film would be out on July 6. Thrilled that they finally have a date to look forward to, beside the September 28 film release, obviously, fans took to social media to show their excitement, as well as their bewilderment. Turns out. Hombale Films announced that the teaser would be released in the early hours of July 6 at 5.12 am, to be precise.

Initially, some thought that it was a typo and that it pm went as am instead, but when there was no sign of a possible rectification, it became crystal clear that 5.12 am is the intended time. This, incidentally, is not the first time that the production house has dropped a teaser at an ungodly hour. Last year, on April 13, with only hours to go for the first show of KGF: Chapter 2, Hombale Films dropped not one, but two teasers within minutes of each other. At 10.44 pm, the world got to see the first glimpse of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, while moments later, they released the teaser of Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh’s Raghavendra Stores.

Several fans saw found it funny that they would be up so early to see the Salaar teaser, an effort they’ve not even put in to study for an exam, adding that they’d set their alarms for 5.10 am. The timing got some to speculate that the banner was following a number sequence in deciding the dates and timings of announcements and releases.

Salaar is, officially, Hombale Films’ first direct Telugu production. Directed by KGF maker Prashant neel, with cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda and music by Ravi Basrur, the film is set to be in theatres on September 28. It is being released as a five-language pan-world film, with Prabhas being joined by Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumar, Jagapati Babu, Pramod, Sourav Lokesh, among many others.
