Seems like the first half of 2023 has been spent waiting for movie buffs with the majority of that period whiled away in anticipation of a Salaar update. The film's grand, thumping global theatrical release is less than 100 days away but the audiences first seek the teaser so as to get a taste of the alluring world that Prashanth Neel & Co. has put together.
But the current buzz in the air, which is growing louder with each passing hour, suggests that the first visual glimpse of Salaar isn't all that far away. Speculations have been rife for quite some time about the teaser dropping on July 7 but one awaits an official update on the same. And right on cue, Hombale Films have come forth with an interesting update, offering a subtle nod to those in anticipation of the teaser in the next few days.
Does that mean that the Salaar teaser will be released on July 7? At this very moment, the makers of the film have made no such promises but their latest social media post about the beginning of a countdown for something momentous (and urging users to subscribe to their YouTube channel in the same vein) could well mean that they have something on the cards. And considering that they are fully aware of the simmering restlessness among the fans, the post could potentially be referring to the teaser. Well, one always thrives on hope.
Salaar is an important film not just for Hombale Films who make their Telugu debut but also for the film's leading man Prabhas. Following the overarching success he received through the Baahubali series, each of Prabhas' subsequent releases has been largely underwhelming, with his most recent release Adipurush exacerbating things for his hardcore fans. Many of them believe that Salaar will be the one that will showcase his true potential as the box office king and Prashanth Neel, as a result, has been entrusted with the job of making it all work. The duo has the backing of countless well-wishers and a star cast (Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sriya Reddy, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, etc.) brimming with promise.
