Prashanth Neel's Salaar always carried the billing of one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the year and as a result, not many others dared to release their films on September 28. However, with the Prabhas starrer almost confirmed to arrive at a later date, one suddenly finds a flurry of releases rescheduled for the final Friday of September.
Ever since the news of Salaar's release being deferred by the makers broke out, social media has been buzzing with release date announcements from all corners. According to reports, close to ten films' theatrical releases have been rescheduled to September 28 and one could expect more to jump on this bandwagon.
Fukrey 3, Parking and more join the new lot
While it can't be claimed with absolute certainty that the said rescheduling is the consequence of Salaar being postponed, there is still no denying that Salaar stood as a major threat to several filmmakers and producers across the world. Earlier today, Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment announced that their film Fukrey 3 would arrive in cinemas on September 28. Similarly, the Telugu release Rules Ranjann, starring Kiran Abbavaram and Neha Shetty, is now scheduled to release on the same day and another social media update reveals that four other Tamil films will hit the big screens on this month's 28th.
The four Tamil films are Harish Kalyan's Parking, Siddharth starrer Chithha, Uyir Thamizhukku and the Jayam Ravi biggie Iraivan. While Chithha was always meant to clash with Salaar, the common release dates of films like Parking, Rules Ranjann, Fukrey 3, Iraivan and others were announced only recently, over the last couple of days.

The most interesting speculation, though, is that the upcoming Telugu biggie Tiger Nageswara Rao, too, could release in theatres on September 28. The makers of the Ravi Teja starrer had announced well in advance that the film would release on October 20th (Dasara) but with Salaar now out of the way, the latest rumours suggest there could a slight change in these plans. However, the latest social media post regarding Tiger Nageswara Rao does mention that the original release plan stays in tact but with Salaar's postponement disrupting things, one can always expect the unexpected!
