KGF maker Prashant Neel’s Salaar is, undoubtedly, the most expected film of the year. Starring Prabhas in the lead, along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapati Babu, Shruthi Haasan, Easwari Rao, Pramod, Sourav Lokesh, among many others, the film, is expected to drop in two parts, with the first, the tale of ‘The most violent calling one man the most violent – Salaar’ in theatres on September 28. This, however, has not been confirmed by the makers.

Hombale Films, which is backing the project took to social media a little while ago to remind audiences that Salaar is only 100 days away. “Time to give the world the CPR it needs. Get ready for #Salaar on Sep 28, 2023🔥,” read the post, along with a poster declaring 100 Days to witness Salaar.

The film, which has Prashant collaborating with cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda and music director Ravi Basrur yet again, after Ugram and the KGF series, is speculated to be a much bigger and better version of the filmmaker’s debut venture, Ugramm, a film that Prashant produced himself with great difficulty and lost a lot of money on. The filmmaker has been quoted as saying that one of his learnings was that he should have made it with a big star and Salaar is supposed to be that version, although he has denied that it is a remake. In an earlier interview with the media, Ravi Basrur had also said that Salaar being the remake of Ugramm is an open secret.

Sources attached the project have also confirmed to OTTplay that Salaar follows the story of Ugramm, presented now on a massive platter, with newer characters introduced in the narrative. In fact, Prashant had earlier said that he was interested in making an Ugramm sequel, so it is being said that he has combined the scripts of the original and the sequel for the Prabhas film. The teaser for Salaar is expected sometime in July, following which, character introduction posters, will make their way, we are told.
