Salaar Ceasefire, the first installment of the two-part action franchise Salaar, headlined by Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumar and Shruti Haasan, is gearing up for a grand release on December 21 across the globe in multiple languages. Prashanth Neel, the director behind action sagas like Ugramm and KGF, helms the film produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films.
After much anticipation, the film’s trailer was launched today. The tale revolves around two inseparable young friends, Deva and Varada Raj Mannar (Prithviraj). An aggressive Deva will go to any extent to protect his childhood buddy. Later, the scene shifts to the dacoit-ruled kingdom of Khansaar, where there is a power struggle. An ageing patriarch Raja Mannar’s wish is to see his son Varada rule the kingdom.
When Raja Mannar is not around, a group of conspirators plan to kill Varada. While Naarang has brought the Russians to fight them, Gurung has assembled the Serbians, eyeing the throne. There’s pressure on Varada to build a new army; here’s when his childhood friend Deva, played by Prabhas, comes to his rescue. He says people build boundaries out of fear, worrying who will enter the kingdom.
Deva is on a killing spree while Varada’s ambitions grow with time. Varada soon becomes greedy and wants to expand his kingdom and gradually, there’s tension between him and Varada. Yet, Deva goes all out to protect Varada. Borrowing a leaf out of the KGF dialogue ‘I hate violence’, Prabhas utters the line, ‘Please..I kindly request’. The trailer promises a bloodbath of a film with intense performances.
After a series of duds, the Salaar trailer has enough promise to expect a satisfying film later this month. Bobby Simha, Tinu Anand, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Brahmaji and Garuda Ram essay other important roles in Salaar CeaseFire. Ravi Basrur scores the music and Bhuvan Gowda is the cinematographer. Sandeep Reddy Bandla, Hanuman Chaudhary, and DR Suri have written the dialogues.
