Salaar Ceasefire will hopefully join the league of 'Animal', 'Jawan', 'Jailer' and other blockbusters, each of which boasts a lengthy runtime.

Thanks to the success of some of the recent big releases the old-school '3-hour' runtime seems to be coming back in vogue. If the latest reports are to come true, Prabhas fans and all those looking forward to Salaar will be treated to a 175-minute-long saga that brims with action, drama and so much more.

The current buzz is that Prashanth Neel's film has seen through the certification stage and that the Telugu version (also the original version?) has clocked a runtime of 2 hours and 55 minutes. While at first glance the duration might seem to be longer than usual, films like Jawan, Jailer and Gadar 2 have proven that conviction and a solid narrative will ultimately make the runtime of a film redundant. Each of the examples cited here runs close to the 3-hour mark but they largely benefitted from an engaging story, aside from boasting bona fide superstars as part of the cast.

Alongside, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has substantiated with 'Animal', which is almost 3.5 hours long, that runtimes do not really matter when films are worthwhile.

'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' will be in theatres on December 22 and the makers are now gradually ramping up the pre-release promotional efforts. Having released the first trailer earlier this month, the team now reportedly plan to share another glimpse of the film in the form of an action teaser, which could drop on either the 16th or 18th of this month. In the same vein, the first song or single too could be expected to be shared prior to the release of the film.

The promotions, though, may not follow the conventional template in that the core cast and crew of the film possibly will not be available for media interviews or interactions. This isn't set in stone, obviously, and nor has the team made any such announcement, but the 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' promotions will likely remain subdued in the lead-up to the theatrical release.

The cast of the first part of Salaar includes Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Pramod, Shruti Haasan, Easwari Rao and others with Prashanth Neel serving as both the writer and director of the film. Hombale Films produces the actioner, which will be released in multiple Indian languages.
