Prabhas and Prashanth Neel seem to have delivered on the promise of a blockbuster as Salaar takes off on a grand note. As per trade reports, the film has grossed close to Rs. 100 crores in India alone on the opening with the worldwide collections potentially hitting the Rs. 175 crores mark, making it a huge force to reckon with at the box office.

In the same vein, Prabhas has pulled off another super impressive record in Karnataka with 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire' grossing a whopping Rs. 11.65 crores on Day #1 of its theatrical run. Previously, the 44-year-old actor had two double-digit opening-day grossers in the state to his name and he shared the feat with the likes of Kiccha Sudeep, Darshan Thoogudeepa, Puneeth Rajkumar and Yash.

And now, thanks to 'Salaar Ceasefire's thumping performance at the box office, Prabhas is the only actor in history who has three films, in Karnataka, that have collected over Rs. 10 crores on their respective opening days. Indeed, this proves that his popularity transcends borders and that he is a huge superstar not just in the two Telugu states but globally.

Speaking of Salaar's box-office exploits, the film has yielded great results despite stiff competition from Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki', which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. The Hindi film opened to mixed responses from critics and audiences alike with many praising the humour and the presence of a strong emotional core, but highlighting that screenplay is lacklustre. 'Dunki', which released in theatres a day prior to 'Salaar: Part - Ceasefire' on December 21, is said to have collected close to Rs. 50 crores (net) over two days.

'Salaar Part 1', on the other hand, looks well on course to become a huge commercial success, much to the delight of Prabhas' fans. The actor is set to reunite with Prashanth Neel for Part Two of the film, titled 'Shouryanga Parvam', which one hears is likely to go on floors in 2025.
