Salaam Venky OTT release date: Where to watch Revathy’s film starring Kajol after its theatrical run

Salaam Venky is a film cinephiles have been looking forward to, for a number of reasons. Besides being Kajol’s first big screen release in almost two years, the film also marks Revathy’s return to the director’s chair after more than a decade. Fans were elated to learn that their anxious wait was coming to an end this year, when it was announced that Salaam Venky would hit theatres on December 9, this Friday. For the fans who are awaiting details about the film’s OTT release, fret not, as the film has locked in an OTT partner already.

ZEE5 has bagged the streaming rights of the film and Salaam Venky will be available to stream on the platform after its theatrical run. The makers are yet to announce the OTT release date of the film.

Salaam Venky is inspired by the incredible true story of Venkatesh, a young boy who suffered from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and his mother Sujata, who goes to any lengths to make sure that her son is able to live life to the fullest. Kajol essays the role of Sujata, while Vishal Jethwa stars as Venkatesh. During their appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati season 14 to promote the film, Kajol and Revathy had introduced audiences to the real Sujata.

Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Aahana Kumra, Prakash Raj, Priya Mani, Riddhi Kumar, Aneet Padda, Jai Neeraj, Maala Parvathi and Kamal Sadanah also feature in the film. Aamir Khan also features in a cameo role in the film.

The upcoming film marks Revathy’s first feature length directorial since the Shilpa Shetty starrer Phir Milenge(2004). Revathy had also directed segments in the anthology films Kerala Cafe(2009) and Mumbai Cutting(2010). Salaam Venky was produced by Suuraj Sinngh, Shraddha Agrawal, and Varsha Kukreja under the banners of BLIVE Productions and RTAKE Studios.
