Saira Banu captioned the post stating that the date was dearest to her heart because on 23rd August, 1966 Dilip Sahib had walked into her House and her Heart to wish her for her Birthday.

The legendary actress, while terming it as ‘wonder of wonders’, said that the very next week, Sahib (Dilip Kumar) had sought her hand in marriage from her grandmother Shamshad Abdul Waheed Khan’s approval. It was consequently followed by them having a quiet family ceremony on October 2, where ‘Dilip Sahib’ and she exchanged engagement rings and her dream of becoming Dilip Sahib’s wife stepped onto the threshold of coming true.

Saira Banu also added that, to the entire world, this was a bolt from the blue because nobody had ever imagined this possibility since they had never worked together and had never been propelled as an 'Ideal Couple' by the imaginative media and so this news created a storm worldwide.
