Venkatesh, who completed 37 years of filmdom recently, is gearing up for the release of his 75th film - Saindhav, directed by three-film-old filmmaker Sailesh Kolanu. Venkat Boyanapalli, who backed Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy earlier, is bankrolling the film under Niharika Entertainment. The multistarrer is gearing up for a theatrical release on January 13, locking horns with Ravi Teja’s Eagle.

The makers of Saindhav, after the promotional tour in Andhra Pradesh and the celebratory event marking Venkatesh’s 75th film, released the much-awaited trailer in the presence of the cast, crew, media and film buffs today. The trailer starts with the child addressing her father as a superhero, depicting their bond and how far he’ll go to protect her amidst all circumstances.

Soon, the protagonist realises that his daughter has a life-threatening ailment - spinal muscular dystrophy. In case he wishes to see his daughter alive, he needs to procure a drug worth Rs 15 crore. He has little choice but to go back to his old, mean ways, treading a path of crime and destroying anyone/anything that obstructs his motive, while revealing glimpses of his past.

The trailer has a terrific background score that complements the stylised violence and the tension in the proceedings. Saindhav marks a perfect return for Venkatesh in the action genre, after a series of dramas and comedies. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the antagonist, the other actors include Arya, Andrea Jeremiah, Baby Sara, Jisshu Sengupta, Mukesh Rishi and others.

Santhosh Narayanan scores the music for the film. Multiple songs from Saindhav are out already - Sarada Saradaga, Bujjikondave and Wrong Usage. Saindhav will release in five languages simultaneously - Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. Other popular faces in the film include Jaya Prakash, Ruhani Sharma. S Manikandan cranks the camera and Garry Bh is the editor.
