Saif Ali Khan stabbing row: Shahid Kapoor calls the attack shocking and ‘very difficult to absorb’

The entire nation, especially Mumbai, is shocked by the unfortunate incident at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence in the early hours of January 16. A burglar reportedly entered his house intending to rob and, when confronted by Saif trying to protect his family, stabbed the Sacred Games star six times, leaving him wounded with severe injuries to his spine and arm. Saif was rushed to the hospital, underwent surgery, and was declared out of danger. Reports confirm that the Mumbai police have arrested the main accused. Shahid Kapoor has now reacted to the incident.

Shahid Kapoor Reacts to Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Row

Shahid Kapoor, currently promoting his next release Deva, addressed the incident during the trailer launch of the film. Asked about the attack, Shahid expressed his concern and extended his wishes to Saif. He remarked on the shocking nature of the incident, particularly because it occurred in a personal space.

Shahid Kapoor stated, "It's a very sad incident. All of us in the industry are very concerned. We hope that Saif's health is better and that he's feeling better. Whatever happened was shocking. It was in a personal space, so it's very difficult to absorb the whole thing." (Via Zoom)

Shahid later expressed confidence in the police force, saying, "I'm sure the police are doing their best. This rarely happens here because Mumbai is a very safe city, even if you're out on the road at 2 am or 3 am, even if you're a woman. We hope he recovers soon, and we are praying for him all the time."

Mumbai Police Arrest the Prime Accused

A city-wide manhunt by the Mumbai police led to the arrest of the main accused. CCTV footage helped identify the burglar, who allegedly used the fire exit staircase to reach the 11th floor of the building where Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan reside. The accused has been taken to the Bandra police station and is currently being questioned, as reported by The Economic Times. 

Initial investigations revealed that the attack was motivated by robbery, with the attacker demanding ₹1 crore from the actor's family. Kareena Kapoor issued a statement last night, requesting privacy for the family as they process and recover from the traumatic incident.

Kareena stated, “It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from relentless speculation and coverage. While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are overwhelming and pose a significant risk to our safety. I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time.”
