Fans have been anticipating Siddharth Anand's untitled Netflix production since May. To begin, it's a heist thriller, which is a rather rare subgenre in Bollywood films. Importantly, it pits two A-listers against each other: Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat. Saif Ali Khan, who made his Netflix debut with the groundbreaking series Sacred Games in Indian digital entertainment, is set to star in the OTT film directed by Robbie Grewal. The filmmaker is excited about the concept and wants to start filming as soon as possible.
A classic heist movie with two A-list actors in the lead
During an interaction with Mid Day, Grewal said that from the beginning, they knew they wanted to cast two A-list actors opposite one another in the film. It's a classic heist movie, and any good caper tale is sure to attract an audience.
This is Saif's first time working with the filmmaker; he has previously collaborated with Anand on the films Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007). The film's director, who previously helmed Adhura Sach, reveals that he specifically cast Saif in the lead role. He said that Saif is a really funny and interesting man. Grewal has had the pleasure of hanging out with him a lot during the year. What they are remembering most about him is how pleasantly humorous he is. They have written the character keeping his real-life persona in mind.

In order to make the thriller seem like a fight of titans, it was vital to find a character who was the complete antithesis of Saif. The timing was ideal for Jaideep, who is currently enjoying the fruits of Jaane Jaan's success. Grewal shared that the actor has an imposing personality and a larger-than-life vibe about him. The filmmaker added that he is a very handsome dude and a genuine Jatt. They have some great plans for how to show him off.
It's a face-off!
In the film, two different yet equally talented groups square off against one another. The project is scheduled to be shot from beginning to end by mid-year if all goes according to plan.
