Sai Dharam Tej, who scored a hit with his comeback film after a road accident - Virupaksha, will have his second release in 2023 with Bro, directed by Samuthirakani. He and Pawan Kalyan played the lead roles in the fantasy comedy produced by People Media Factory and Zee Studios. Ketika Sharma, Priya Prakash Varrier essay other prominent parts.
In an interaction with corporate employees at a promotional event, the actor spoke of the film. Speaking of why the project was titled Bro, the actor said, “When the director narrated the script to me, I and Pawan Kalyan had scenes where we called each other ‘bro’. I found it and trendy as a tale for the times we live in. Girls, boys, regardless of gender, call each other bro these days.”
Responding to a question on what one can expect from Bro, Sai Dharam Tej stated, “Have you watched Rajkumar Hirani films like Munnabhai MBBS or 3 Idiots? The first half will be full of comedy and there will be a nice emotional ending. If you are an emotional person, the film will move you to tears.” He said it was a beautiful experience to be directed by Samuthirakani.
“The film is about living in the moment, living in the present and I loved the message. I would have loved to do the project even it didn’t involve my uncle. Families and fans will love it for sure,” the Chitralahari actor mentioned. Jaanavule, a peppy duet, featuring him and Ketika Sharma, opened to mixed responses from music buffs recently.
Bro is the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Vinodhaya Sitham, also directed by Samuthirakani, that released directly on ZEE5. The digital rights of Bro have been acquired by Netflix and it is expected to premiere in the early half of September or late August.
