Sabdham: Gulmohar actress Simran and Vadandhi actress Laila team up after two decades

The hit duo of director Saran's Parthen Rasithen (2000) is back! The leading ladies of the film, Simran and Laila are all set to team up one again after more than two decades. The duo will be seen in director Arivazhagan's Sabdham, which will have Aadhi as the protagonist. The film is said to be a horror thriller, and going by the title it looks like sound will be a crucial element in the film. Interestingly, the film's tagline is 'Sound that's never heard'. Interestingly, Sabdham marks Simran's 50th film in the industry.

Arivazhagan welcomed Simran with a post on his social media handle. He wrote, "Welcoming Ever Green @SimranbaggaOffc onboard for #Sabdham Starring @AadhiOfficial An @dirarivazhagan Film A @MusicThaman Musical (sic)." Simran, too, thanked the director stating, "Thank you @dirarivazhagan happy to be part of young and talented team of #sabdham (sic)."

Laila, too, had stated that she was thrilled to be part of the team. She wrote on her social media handle, "So thrilled to be onboard with #sabdham Starring @AadhiOfficial An @dirarivazhagan Film A @MusicThaman Musical (sic)."

Sabdham marks the comeback of Aadhi and Arivazhagan, too, after a span of 13 long years. The duo had earlier worked together in the sleeper hit Eeram, which starred Aadhi and Sindhu in the lead, along with Saranya Mohan. Water is a crucial element in the film. However, the director had maintained that Sabdham will not be an extension of Eeram and that it will be a completely different project altogether.

Simran is basking in the success of her recent release, Gulmohar, written and directed by Rahul V Chittela. The film is currently streaming on Disney + Hotstar and stars Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, Suraj Sharma and Amol Palekar. On the other hand, Laila was last seen in the much-talked about series Vadandhi- The Fable of Velonie, which was directed by Andrew Vasanth and starred SJ Suryah, Laila, Sanjana, Laila and Nassar.
