Isha Talwar's performance in the new film Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo as a feisty bahu who runs a drug business with her mother has been met with critical acclaim. It would seem that the actor would have to stretch himself to play such a role, but Talwar says that's not the case at all.
Isha told the Hindustan Times that she doesn't find playing Bijlee all that challenging. It's far more challenging for her to play characters of the girl next door variety. Only two scenes in the series require physical exertion, which Isha says she liked doing. The actor busted her eye during the action sequence, and she had to rest it out for four days in a pitch-black room because it had become extremely light-sensitive, clarifying that the scene was not physically demanding. So, it was just that part that was difficult.
Isha admits that she was preoccupied with something else: making sure the story of Bijlee, a character torn between a same-sex love and a marriage of convenience, wasn't on the surface.
The success of the actor has increased her fan base, but not too long ago, Isha had no job after starring in the fan favourite, Mirzapur.
Everyone has their favourite actors and tends to be reluctant to work with newcomers. Many millions of dollars are staked on the performers rather than the story in blockbuster films, so they are used over and over again. That's why it's so tough for so many up-and-coming actors to break into the business, she says, before adding that Bollywood isn't always the difficult industry to exist in that its reputation suggests. The time has come for people to grasp that creativity does not thrive in such an atmosphere.
Isha feels she has done well for herself so far as she makes her way in this field. Her one and only goal is to give her all in everything she does. Goals are boring to her. The actor concluded by saying that she doesn't want to add any unnecessary stress to her life because she works in a field that is constantly evolving.
