Rupali Ganguly reveals Anupamaa success didn’t bother her old friends: They don’t care that people call me Anupama

Rupali Ganguly is known as Anupama ever since her show became a huge success. She is now recognized more as the character. Fans call her by Anupama rather than her real name, Rupali.

However, that has not affected Rupali’s old friends. She has revealed to ETimes that her buddies do not even realize that people call her Anupama.

The character Anupama became popular because of Rupali’s show, Anupamaa. The actress is also known as ‘Middle Class’ Monisha from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.

“Nothing has changed here. Even today when I roam around in the lanes, people who I have known for years, just come and ask, ‘Arre Rupa, kaisi hai?’ They don’t care if I am known as Anupama or whatever else,” she said.

Anupamaa has been one of the most loved TV shows. As per the latest BARC report, it had the top TRP this week despite Anupama-Anuj separation.

The show is about a housewife and her sacrifices. Anupamaa is a character who sacrifices her dreams and ambitions to start her family. It has been praised for both, performances by actors as well as the storyline.
