The makers of Kiran Abbavaram and Neha Shetty's comedy-drama Rules Ranjann recently announced that their film would arrive in cinemas on September 28, taking the spot left behind by Prabhas' Salaar.
At first glance, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for the team to have a relatively comfortable theatrical run but turns out the said date has been sought out by not just them but several others. It would emerge soon enough that the Friday of September 28 will carry multiple releases, including Chandramukhi 2, Skanda, Pedda Kapu and an array of other non-Telugu films.
So, in this vein, the latest update is that the producers of Rules Ranjann have decided to defer the release by a week. The 'quirky romantic entertainer' will now release in theatres on October 6, 2023.
The decision to delay the release by a week, of course, comes in light of the dense box office clash that is scheduled to occur on September 28. The makers of Rules Ranjann state that since they are confident of their film entertaining audiences, it would be wise on their part to arrive on October 6th instead so as to reach a 'majority of their target audience'.
Centred around two starkly contrasting leads - Kiran Abbavaram plays the titular role, a young man who is a stickler for rules and traditions whereas Neha Shetty plays the part of a liberated, modern-day woman - Rules Ranjann is billed as a right mix of romance, humour and emotions.
Rathinam Krishna has written and directed the film with Divyang Lavania and Murali Krishnaa Vemuri producing it under the Star Light Entertainment Pvt Ltd banner.
In the lead-up to the release, the film's songs have done exceptionally well online with singles like Sammohanuda and Naalo Nene Lenu going on to become chartbusters. Much of Rules Ranjann's charm, one gathers, lies in the music and also it is employed in the film, along with the chemistry that the leads Kiran Abbavaram and Neha Shetty share.
