Rules Ranjann, marking the comeback of director Rathinam Krishna (after Oxygen, Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu), was the third release of the year for Kiran Abbavaram after the action comedy Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha and the cop saga Meter. Meanwhile, Rules Ranjann, promoted as an out-and-out entertainer, released in theatres on October 6, receiving mixed responses from viewers and critics.
Neha Sshetty played the female lead in the comedy entertainer, which was produced by Divyang Lavania, Murali Krishnaa Vemuri under Starlight Entertainment. A M Rathnam was the presenter of the film which had music by Amrish, yesteryear actress Jayachitra’s son. Meher Chahal, Vennela Kishore, Subbaraju, Hyper Aadi, Viva Harsha, Annu Kapoor essayed other supporting roles in the film.

Nearly two months after its theatrical release, the film is now out on OTT. Leading Tamil, Telugu OTT platform aha decided to premiere the film today i.e. November 30 at 6 pm. Confirming the news, the streamer wrote, “Rules tho kabadi adataniki vachesadu mana Rules Ranjann. Watch #RulesRanjann on aha now.” The film centres on the highs and lows in the love life of a man who goes by the rule book.
Sammohanuda, the romance number sung by Shreya Ghoshal, which featured Neha Sshetty’s terrific dance moves, contributed to the film’s hype. The other actors in the film include Ajay, Atul Parchure, Vijay Patkar, Makarand Deshpande, Nellore Sudarshan, Goparaju Ramana, Abhimanyu Singh and Siddharth Sen. Interestingly, all films in Kiran Abbavaram’s career excepting Meter can be watched on aha.
During the pre-release promotions of Rules Ranjann, Kiran Abbavaram said he’ll be taking a break briefly henceforth to make a film that’ll make his fans proud. His co-star Neha Sshetty was also part of the comedy Bedurulanka 2012, where she shared screenspace alongside Kartikeya (the film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video). She also plays the lead in Gangs of Godavari, paired opposite Vishwak Sen.
