Rukmini Maitra to make her Bollywood debut opposite Vidyut Jammwal in Sanak

Tollywood star Rukmini Maitra is all set to step foot in the Hindi film industry in Kanishk Varma’s Sanak. After multiple hits in Tollywood, the actress has decided to explore beyond regional movies, with Sanak marking her debut in Bollywood. She has been roped in to act opposite Vidyut Jammwal in this action thriller, which marks the fifth collaboration of Vidyut with producer Vipul Shah.

Distributed by Zee Studios, Sanak also stars Neha Dhupia and Chandan Roy Sanyal. The movie is scheduled to resume filming from the first week of September, if the pandemic situation gets better.

Expressing her shooting experience with Vidyut, Rukmini informed ETimes how the dashing actor is always chilled out. Calling him extremely easygoing, she praised her co-actor as someone who appreciates hard work. They were both aware of each other’s body of work, with a certain exchange of mutual respect and appreciation between them. However, Rukmini was visibly surprised when Vidyut wished her on her birthday with a still from their upcoming movie.

When asked about her next project Kishmish with Dev, Rukmini conveyed her excitement for the rom-com, and said that she has been eagerly waiting to start Kishmish for so long, as she loves the script. If all gets well, they may start filming from August. She believes that the movie has a very young and vibrant feel to it, and hopes that it manages to hit the sweet spot of the audience, just like the name does.
