Hoichoi dropped the cast announcement of the upcoming musical thriller Rudrabinar Obhishaap. The cast as revealed has Vikram Chatterjee as Aalap, Rupsha Chatterjee as Shruti, Sourav Das as Naad, Dwitipriya Roy as Shaaj.

Have a look at the cast announcement video.

The video takes the viewers through the corridors of an ancient fortress, lit in gleaming golden lights, as each antique portrait on the walls reveals the characters one by one. Finally, the title comes up. Helmed by Joydeep Mukherjee, Rudrabinar Obhishaap is touted to be a musical thriller that is named after Rudra Veena, an integral instrument in Hindustani classical music.

The four protagonists will set out to uncover a cursed past, and in the process, stumble upon deep-seated truths about each other which might very well alter their relationships. Within the broad genre of thrillers that has been a successful addition to Hoichoi, the sub-genre of musical thrillers has also been picked up well by the audience, be it the series Shei Je Holud Pakhi or Tansen er Tanpura, which starred Vikram and Rupsha. In fact, following public demand, Tansen er Tanpura was brought back on the popular Bengali streaming platform for a second season too.

Meanwhile, the cast members are busy with their respective projects. Saurav Das will be also seen in Montu Pilot 2, reprising his role as the eponymous ferryman of escorts. Dwitipriya Roy, who is a popular face in Bengali TV serials, will be seen in Subhrajit Mitra’s Avijatrik — The Wanderlust within, which is drawn from the last section of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay’s novel Aparajito, to take the story of Apu forward. Vikram Chatterjee has been locked for a role in the National Award-winning director Atanu Ghosh’s next film Shesh Pata, the shoot for which has already begun. Vikram will share screen space with Prosenjit Chatterjee.

More details on Rudrabinar Obhishaap are awaited.
