Rudra: The Edge of Darkness: Ajay Devgn enters the metaverse with virtual avatar, inspired by the show

Ajay Devgn is taking some bold strides with his upcoming series, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness. The actor has recently made a foray into the metaverse with a new virtual avatar, inspired by his character from the upcoming Disney+Hotstar thriller series.

In a statement, the actor opened up about his entry into the ‘all-new world’ of the metaverse, saying that he always wanted an opportunity to be closer to his fans. He said he is proud to get the opportunity to step into the virtual reality space through his new avatar, which is based on the upcoming web series that he said is ‘close to his heart’. “From a digital series debut to my very first venture into the metaverse, this has been an incredible journey for me,” he added. This would make the series one of the first shows to enter into the metaverse.

Devgn also posted a short clip of him on his social media, which shows him wearing a virtual reality headset and other VR gear.

The upcoming web series, which marks Devgn’s OTT debut, is based on the British series Luther, starring Idris Elba. In addition to Devgn, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness also features Raashi Khanna, Esha Deol, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tarun Gahlot, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Satyadeep Misra in pivotal roles. Rajesh Mapuskar has directed the series, which is produced by Applause entertainment.

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from March 4, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam and Bengali.
