Rudhrudu OTT release date: When and where to watch Raghava Lawrence, Priya Bhavani Shankar’s film

Choreographer, director, philanthropist and actor Raghava Lawrence headlined a commercial entertainer titled Rudhran recently. The film was dubbed into Telugu as Rudhrudu and released in theatres simultaneously with the original in the first half of April. Priya Bhavani Shankar played the female lead in the film which was directed and produced by Kathiresan. Sarath Kumar played the antagonist.

KP Thirumaaran wrote the story and the screenplay for the film which opened to mixed responses in theatres and had a modest run at the box office. Nearly a month after its release, both the Telugu and Tamil versions of the film are gearing up for their OTT premiere. Sun NXT acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the action entertainer and will premiere the film on May 14, Sunday.

The story revolves around a dutiful son who goes to London to repay the huge debt availed by his father. While his wife is the only solace, he hopes to return to his home to lead a hassle-free life. Despite his intentions, destiny offers him a rude shock. He needs to come to terms with the death of a loved one owing to a criminal who eyed his property. Will he be able to teach him a lesson?

OTTplay.com's critic while reviewing the film wrote, “Lawrence’s acts in Rudhran are no different from what he portrays in the popular Kanchana franchise. With almost zero novelty in the screenplay and dull character sketches, one finds it difficult to sit through the whole movie. A message that appears in the end is relevant, but forced and hence, makes little impact.”

GV Prakash Kumar scored the music for the film and remixed the yesteryear song Paadatha Pattellam in the album. Sam CS worked on the background score. While RD Rajasekar ISC handled the cinematography, the film was edited by Anthony. Stun Siva and Raju. P are the action director and the art director respectively. Shridhar choreographed the songs. Rudhrudu was produced under Five Star Creations.
