The revenge drama has hit 1,500 screens across the globe, according to makers. GV Prakash's songs and background score by Sam CS were expected to be a few highlights of the film which has Sarath Kumar, Nasser, Kaali Venkat, Ilavarasu and Poornima Bhagyaraj essaying crucial characters.
Rudhran has opened to mixed response among both Tamil and Telugu audience, thanks to its lacklustre screenplay, predictable conflicts, unconvincing set of sequences and a few other aspects. However, this doesn't come as a surprise as cinephiles were slightly disappointed when its trailer was unveiled recently.
The promo video hinted at the movie being a regular mass masala fare offering nothing new in terms of story and presentation. Lawrence's energetic performance is the prime attraction of the project which has Sarath Kumar putting up as an impressive portrayal of a ruthless businessman. A couple of emotional sequences aren't bad, but most of the scenes do not leave any impact.
We have learnt that Sun NXT has acquired the digital rights of Rudhran. Its OTT premiere is expected to happen in the third week of May. If the film fails to attract crowd in the coming days, it is likely to drop on the platform after three or four weeks.
