RRR is counting down the days until its release and fans’ excitement about the film nearing its release gets more and more palpable with each passing day. The movie has stoked fans’ anticipation for an array of reasons, one of them being the sheer amount of star power attached to it, in the form of its leads Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Recently, the hype seems to have crossed the borders to reach New York City as well.

In Times Square in New York City, a billboard amidst the busy city featured Charan’s character from the upcoming film in his full glory. The billboard featured several glimpses of Charan’s powerful avatar as Alluri Sitarama Raju, and he is seen performing some high octane action sequences in the same. The video can be viewed on the official Twitter handle of the film.

In the upcoming film, Jr NTR and Charan essay the role of real life Indian revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. The two were important figures in the Rampa Rebellion of 1922 and the 1930s battles against the Nizam rulers of Hyderabad. The film is a fictionalised story based on the two.

In addition to Charan and Jr NTR, RRR also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris and Shriya Saran. SS Rajamouli has directed the film. It is produced by D. V. V. Danayya under DVV Entertainments.

RRR will be released in theatres on March 25, 2022. After its theatrical run, the film is expected to be released on Netflix and ZEE5 sometime in June.
