RRR on OTT: Wait’s almost over as Jr NTR, Ram Charan’s film hits ZEE5 and Netflix THIS week

After its roaring success at the box office SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, RRR, is all set to wow audiences on OTT. In a special treat for audiences, the epic period drama will come to both ZEE5 and Netflix this week.

Netflix had earlier announced that the Hindi version of RRR would be released on its platform on June 2. In a surprise move, the streaming giant announced today that RRR will be available to stream on Netflix from May 20 onwards, almost two weeks earlier than previously announced.

And if that wasn’t enough, fans also got a double whammy when ZEE5 also announced that the will be available on its platform on May 20 as well, for all users with a premium subscription. The streaming giant had earlier announced that the film will be available on its platform on Friday on a pay per view basis, a decision which was not well received by users. Subsequently, ZEE5 reversed its decision and will now make the film available for all premium users from Friday. The film can be streamed in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam on the platform.

One of the biggest releases of the year, RRR, broke numerous records during its box office run. Releasing in theatres on March 25, the film witnessed record breaking opening day numbers and grossed over Rs 1000 crore at the box office.

The film stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan as fictionalised versions of real life Indian revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Rahul Ramakrishna, Samuthirakani, Rajeev Kanakala, Shriya Saran and Edward Sonnenblick also feature in the film, backed by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment.
