RRR: Jr NTR, Ram Charan starrer is the first Indian film to cross the $5 million mark in USA

During the promotional campaign for RRR in the previous week, everyone was surprised when director SS Rajamouli expressed confidence that his period drama would comfortably break the records previously set by Baahubali. And going by the response the Jr NTR, Ram Charan starrer has received, he's been proved right. The film is on a record-breaking spree everywhere and has created an all-time record in most regions in Telugu states and USA too. 

In USA, the response for the film has been unprecedented and the team of RRR themselves expressed happiness about the way RRR was promoted in the country, ensuring them a grand opening. A massive premiere for RRR was hosted in USA a day prior to the release and the good buzz for the film helped it draw crowds on Friday as well. Sarigama Cinemas, the distributor for RRR in the US region, has officially confirmed that the film has garnered $5 million with just the premieres and the opening day collections.

RRR is now the first Indian film to achieve the $5 million mark at the USA box office and surprisingly, it's only been one day since the movie released. The SS Rajamouli directorial is on course to create more records in US which will be extremely difficult for any film to beat in the near future. Don't be surprised when you start hearing terms like 'Non-RRR record' akin to 'Non-Baahubali record' in reference to film collections across India and US in the times to come.  

Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Rahul Ramakrishna, Olivia Morris and Shriya Saran too played important roles in RRR. The film was edited by A Sreekar Prasad, has cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar, production design by Sabu Cyril and music by MM Keeravaani.
